The small town of Cahuita with a Caribbean flair, a big part of the inhabitants speak a creole English. Most of the original inhabitants of the village are dark skinned and arrived in Jamaica to Costa Rica to work in the construction of the railway line or on banana plantations. Sun, beach and reggae - in Cahuita dips into the Caribbean way of life. The culture of this predominantly black population shapes the image on the Caribbean coast of the country. During the day people stroll along the white sandy beach under palm trees in the national park, swim in the pleasantly warm sea or in the largest living coral reef snorkeling in Costa Rica. There are also numerous excursions into the tropical lowland rain forest in the area, we particularly recommend a visit to the Nature Reserve-Manzanillo Wildlife. In the evening the nightlife is waiting in Cahuita or in nearby Puerto Viejo. Try the excellent Creole cuisine and let yourself be enchanted by the rhythm of the Caribbean.
The Cahuita National Park is one of the most popular in Costa Rica. A lush vegetation, tropical beaches, coral reefs, mangrove swamps and tourist attractions in the area of the park attract many tourists. Miles of rocky stretches through tropical vegetation and palm dotted beaches and the longest coral reef in Costa Rica. The coral reef provides schools of tropical fish, sea urchins, turtles and many other marine creatures home. A colorful underwater world, ideal for snorkeling or diving. Inside the park, a large number of animals and plants in a natural habitat. Howler and capuchin monkeys, sloths, green iguanas, butterflies and many species of birds are endemic.
